Right place to start to learn how to sail a small keelboat and to get your first ASA certifications. Some very nice teachers will take good care of you and soon the sea will safely become yours. Good mindset. Recommended 100%.
The truth is, I gained enough experience at the BSC to gain the the confidence to buy my own boat - a lifelong dream. I do love the boat but I'm spending more money and sailing less than I was as a member. I also miss the environment and all the great people there - both staff and members. The BSC is really unique and it's the best deal in sailing.
This is an amazing place to learn to sail, race and to meet great people with the same passion.
You guys make it so easy and fun to get out on the water and enjoy a beautiful harbor. You have a fabulous staff, great boats, and great maintenance.
Great people, great selection of sailboats, great classes, BSC is awesome!
I learned to sail at BSC with their Macro package taking Learn to Sail through to Basic Cruising and have loved every minute of their instruction... Their membership packages are fantastic and social events are a blast. The instructors are very experienced and the staff are on the ball and amazing. I am amazed how much I've learned and grateful for the kindred spirits I've met there!
The Boston Sailing Center is a great place to learn to sail, to learn and then do a lot of one-design small keel boat racing year-round, and to meet other passionate sailors. - But I think the hidden benefit is that you end up using the WHOLE city, which means getting out onto the harbor, touring the harbor islands, and taking in the cityscape from the water. You miss so much when you don't take advantage of an opportunity like this!
The sailing school offers great balance - sound instruction and principles, coupled with good sailing experience throughout the course - with very personable folks who are practical and genuine. Â No stuffy sailors here - just enthusiasts.
Best of all we can sail the boats in our class at the sailing center. Its a win-win. We can sail then head into the city for dinner and drinks after. Most excellent!
I took the ASA 101 course recently, and it was well worth the money. The instructors were great, very knowledgeable, and I can't believe how much information and practical learning they packed into two weekends.
An ongoing, collaborative project developed by Boston Sailing Center staff and members. The most comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date guide for sailors to the coast of Massachusetts.
It's easy to find sailing partners at the Boston Sailing Center. As a member, student member, or student you have several options.
