EMILIO TORRES REQUENA

Emilio hails from the beautiful Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. He started sailing at the age of 8 in the Midwest at the local YMCA on El Toro’s. The family moved back to PR from there he sailed and raced on any and every boat he and his family had or was invited to as crew. College brought Emilio to Boston which is has been his home on and off for over 2 decades. A lawyer by profession his true love is sailing and being on the water. “My goal is to share my love and passion for sailing with my students, it’s a beautiful way of life”. At the Sailing center Emilio teaches beginners and advance sailing.

He also teaches all levels of racing including Frostbite during the winter (His Caribbean blood is still getting used to this madness but it’s addictive!!).

“Racing is one of the best ways for a sailor to hone their skills and learn how to really handle the sailboat in all types of conditions”.

He holds a 50 ton Masters USCG Captain license with endorsements for Towing and Sailing.
