What you are seeing now is an ongoing, collaborative project developed by Boston Sailing Center staff and members. Over time, we expect that it will grow into the most comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date guide for sailors to the coast of Massachusetts. We also hope it's the smartest and the most attractive, with the best personality.
For this third release, we have added a fourth Regional Chart - Boston Harbor - to the Cape Ann, Cape Cod Bay and Buzzards Bay charts from past years. Each chart links to a selection of the most prominent harbors within the regions. We will continue to add new harbors and Suggested Itineraries throughout the season.
We've also set up a Sources page, an incomplete listing of writings that help shape our understanding of the coast, plus a substantial listing of Weather links organized for quick access and evaluation of forecasts. Finally, there's a new test feature (under Cuttyhunk) called cultch. It's a place to collect photos and remarks from members who have visited the harbors recently.
So the quality of the Guide continues to depend on your contributions. If you have photos, restaurant reviews, good advice, local knowledge, or corrections, email them to info@bostonsailingcenter.com.
We aim to be forthright, but fair. Wit and reflection are appreciated. Griping and sneering are as unwelcome as Chamber of Commerce cheeriness. The word "quaint" will not appear in the Guide.
