Sandwich is two distinct places: the Boat Basin at the east end of the Cape Cod Canal, and the town a mile away.
The Boat Basin is all business. It's an efficient, 24 hour-a-day town run marina where sailors enroute to someplace else wait for fair weather in Cape Cod Bay or a favorable current through the Canal.
But if your cruising schedule is unhurried, the old, quiet and relaxed town of Sandwich has an appeal beyond its convenience.
