Cape Cod Bay doesn't off much in the way of lunch anchorages. The best alternatives are walking around the towns.
for the night
Instead of staying in Plymouth, you can often anchor by Clarks Island.
Midweek, offseason and at the right tide, Cohasset can be an alternative to either the harbor island or Scituate.
for a shorter cruise
With a morning start, you can skip the harbor island and get to Plymouth the first night. Or run the itinerary backwards and skip the harbor island on the last day. Sandwich is the next logical harbor to omit.
