Five sessions cover balance and sail shape, tuning, spinnaker handling, docking, and anchoring under power, use of marine radio, and daytime coastal navigation.
An excellent preparation for the Racing course, Cruising course or Mid-Range membership.

Formats
The Advanced Course is offered in 3 different formats: 5-Week, Vacation Week, or Weekend. All formats include 24 hours of instruction. Includes lecture and on-the-water instruction.
Vacation Week: Classes meet for one week, Monday through Friday, from 10:30am to 4pm. Lecture meets 10:30am-12:00pm, followed by sailing from 1-4pm. Friday's class features an all-day navigation sail among to the Harbor islands... a great ending to a great week! |
5-Week: Classes meet 4:30-9:00pm one night per week for 5 weeks. Lecture meets 4:30-6:00pm, followed by sailing from 6-9pm. |
Weekend: Held over two consecutive weekends - Saturday/Sunday, Saturday/ Sunday 10:00am-4:30pm. Lecture meets 10:00am-12:00pm, followed by sailing from 1-5pm. |
Open: Choose the "Open" format if you would like to register now but choose the format and start date at a later time. |
Group Enrollment
Signing up with more than one person? We have a discount for that! Groups of two or more who sign up together for the same course qualify for discounts of 20% off the course fee after one student has purchased the course at full price (in other words, it's full price for the first person and 20% off for each additional person).
To qualify for the group enrollment discount, purchases must be made over the phone. Contact the office at 617-227-4198 to register your group.
