Boston Harbor Islands Regatta

Congratulations to Vasiliy Gusev for winning Fleet G in the J/24 Alex. Dyane Bailey finished 3rd and was the first of the 14 Solings across the line. With Nick Brachet taking 4th in the J/24 Stilleto, the BSC won the Presidents Trophy for best three finishes in the community sailing club fleet.

Judd Smith Racing Seminar

2006 Rolex Sailor of the Year, Jud Smith, will be giving his take on Thursday Night Soling Racing. Members and current students are invited for this post race seminar at 8:00PM on 8/15/13. Please RSVP to the office if you plan on attending as space is limited.

Jud is the head of Doyle Sails One Design and is the 2006 Etchells World Champion. His record in the Etchells also includes six second place World Championship finishes and at least six North American Titles. He has won numerous other championships, including an IOD World Championship, two Mumm 30 World Championships, a Rhodes 19 National Championship and a 2010 Sonar North American Championship.

Jud was the mainsail trimmer on the Stars and Stripes during Dennis Conner's successful 1995 America's Cup campaign.

New Beneteaus Join the Cruising Fleet

The BSC has partnered with Cape Yachts to bring two new Beneteaus into the fleet. An Oceanis 34 will be added to the Cruising 35 fleet and an Oceanis 37 will join the Cruising 40 fleet. Both boats are scheduled to arrive in June.

A Third Sabre 30 Joins the Fleet

After many years in the fleet, we have retired our C&C 33, Julia, and replaced her with this gorgeous Sabre 30, Nora! The Sabre 30s have become a favorite among cruising members for daysailing and 7-day extended cruises. Nora is making her way over from Michigan, and will join Aeolus and Amorina in the Cruising 30 fleet.

  • Frostbite Wrap Up

Weather permitting, we film all of our races. Not only is it a fun thing to watch at the post-race gathering, but it is a great tool for seeing how your crew work was at a mark rounding, or how you started with the rest of the fleet. Here are just a few races from recent years, but you can find even more on our YouTube channel.
