PETER GALIPAULT

Peter Galipault hails from the North End Waterfront of Boston and has lived in the neighborhood since 1984. He grew up in Central Ohio and learned to sail on a Lightning as kid with his father. He joined the Boston Sailing Center in 1987. Peter Raced on Tuesday nights and Frostbite sailing for many years. He also taught Learn to Sail at the BSC from 1990 to 1999. Peter started racing with Team Scherherazade in 1994 and steadily worked his way around the boat and has been serving as tactician, helmsman and delivery captain for the last ten years or more. He served as jib and spinnaker trimmer on Selene, a Swan 80 for five years. Peter has competed in the Newport to Bermuda as well as Marblehead to Halifax races on various other yachts. He has completed many offshore passages between the Caribbean and the Eastern Seaboard. In his free time, Peter founded Movidea, a graphic design firm in 1982 with his wife Nancy Bellantoni. Movidea specializes in branding, logo design and design for print and web. An enthusiastic student of the guitar and ukulele and loves to play pool. He holds a USCG Near Coastal Masters License.
