Cruising Course

$1660 This course will prepare you for a Cruising 30 or Cruising 35 membership or for bareboat chartering in waters like the Virgin Islands.

Two evening sessions cover the mechanical and electrical systems of a full-size cruising boat, the navigation required for day and night sailing in coastal waters, and docking under power. 

CruisingThe full weekend sail teaches all the fundamental skills needed to charter and cruise successfully, including entering unfamiliar harbors, anchoring, sail handling, dinghy use and more. Fees include food and drink. See the recommended gear list here.

ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising *Certification awarded upon successful course completion and written ASA 104 test. Contact the office if you are not already an ASA member and ASA 101 and 103 certified.

The Cruising Course meets Wednesday to Sunday. (W/Th 6-9pm, Cruise Fri PM-Sun PM)

Classroom and on-board instruction are on Wednesday and Thursday evening from 6:00pm to 9:00pm for. Cruise leaves on Friday evening (typically around 5 or 6pm) and returns Sunday evening.

Member Discount

One of the many benefits of membership at the Boston Sailing Center is that active Daysailing, Mid-Range, Cruising 30, 35, and 40 members receive 10% off the full price of courses. Discount applied in cart once logged in with your member credentials (if you do not know your credentials - contact the BSC, do not create another account). Discount cannot be combined with other offers. Not applicable to Macro Courses. 

Group Enrollment

Signing up with more than one person? We have a discount for that! Groups of two or more who sign up together for the same course qualify for discounts of 20% off the course fee after one student has purchased the course at full price (in other words, it's full price for the first person and 20% off for each additional person).

To qualify for the group enrollment discount, purchases must be made over the phone. Contact the office at 617-227-4198 to register your group.
